My family and I went to Europe in 2011 together.  My brother decided to pop the question to his girlfriend on our trip to Ireland, and I was lucky to get a few photos of where he proposed!  I smuggled the ring on the trip and at Conners Pass he proposed in the perfect setting, the Ireland hillsides are breathtaking!

We went to Ireland in March, and it was the perfect time before the busy tourist season; although the landscape was still waking up from winter, the green hillsides were breathtaking.  We started our trip by flying into Shannon and made a windy drive through the Ireland countryside to the Cliffs of Moher, we got there right after the sun had set and it was extremely rainy!  I would love to go back and photograph these beautiful Cliffs in better lighting.  The Cliffs of Moher would be the perfect setting for wedding photos, the white dress flowing over the steep cliffs with the Atlantic Ocean far below, would be breathtaking!  We just skimmed the surface of this amazing country you could spends weeks visiting all of the marvelous green countryside.

We later drove around the Dingle Peninsula, this drive was so amazing, a must see if you are visiting Ireland.  The town of Dingle was so charming and Pub food in Ireland is amazing.  The roads in Ireland are very small, lots of one ways, and with driving on the other side of the road it made for a very entertaining journey.  We had a lot of close encounters with cows, cops, round a about, and rock walls!

While driving through the Irish countryside we came across a lot of old churches and cemeteries, I loved the old countryside!

Along with many quaint churches, Ireland has some amazing castles.  While there you must kiss the blarney stone for good luck!  According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of the gab or elegant speech.  Apparently it worked on me I was able to convince Cole into marrying me a couple of months later! 🙂  The Blarney Castle is a must see!  We also visited the scenic Rock of Cashel, the weathered, crumbling walls and green hills were spectacular.

Our last stop was Dublin, and it was such a quaint little town.  The food at the pubs was to die for, you must try the bread pudding, that was one of our favorites from the trip.  We were lucky enough to listen the the great Iron and Wine and the historic Olympia Theatre in Dublin.
