Nepali Bridal Photos

December 27, 2016

I can’t believe it will almost be two years since I went to Nepal for The Beyond Workshop by Nina and Wes Photography.  I loved the experience that I had while there!  Nepal was one of my bucket list items for about 9 years before I finally went, I never knew what my draw was to go, but as soon as I walked the streets of Kathmandu and hiked the Himalayas I knew I was suppose to be there!  As I was wandered the hills and streets I kept thinking is this beautiful place for real?!  It was so amazing and some of the photos that I took in Nepal are some of my best during my 12 year career as a Wedding Photographer and Travel Photographer.  From the Fort Resort where this shoot took place we could see Mount Everest on the horizon and it was a humbling view to have for a few days.  This beautiful shoot was styled and directed by Abany Bauer, she was a dream to work with and learn from, my business has become so much better because of her!  Carrie Moe with Type A Society did the florals and she foraged them from the mountains in the area, they were stunning!  I have been lucky enough to photograph several Carol Hannah Wedding Gowns and they never disappoint, they design is flawless and the draping of the fabrics is always perfect!

A little bit about me…today I turn 30, and I love making goals and lists and checking things off.  I made this list when I was 25 after I had finished a 25 things to do before I turn 25, I did not finish all of those so several got moved to this list.  I have loved focusing on these goals and checking them off.  Dream Big!…. why not?  What do you have to loose to make big goals, I didn’t think I would finish most of these, but I was so blessed to work on the things that I love.  Stay tuned for my next list of 35 things to do before I am 35! 🙂  I will also being doing a little giveaway on my instagram!

1. Have a Summerfest Booth

completed on: June 12-14, 2014.  It was so much fun to sell my personal photography and to show my images from all over the world.  I love creating my fine art images as much as I love my portrait work

2. Design fabric with Spoonflower

almost complete.  I have been drawing my designs for several years and this last year I started to watercolor and I am excited to get my designs digitalized and printed.

3. Go to Nepal

completed in March of 2015.  I have wanted to go to Nepal since I graduated from college, 8 years later I was lucky enough to go to The Beyond Workshop where we did humanitarian work and had styled wedding shoots.  The people of Nepal changed me, and I created some of my most prized images on that trip.  Check out one of my blog posts about Nepal.

4. Go to the East Coast and photograph the Sacred Grove in the Fall.

completed in November of 2015.  New York City still had some amazing fall colors at Central Park, but the further north we went the barer the trees were.  When we pulled up to the Sacred Grove, the leaves were gone…. except maybe a block worth of trees in the middle of the grove.Sacred Grove_0298

5. Read the Bible Dictionary

completed on July 23, 2013

6. Train for a triathlon or duathalon.

will be completed at the end of May 2016, I have signed up for the Wellsville Duathalon, now to train and get my butt in shape!

correction…I had a wedding come up…and then I quit training! 🙂

7. Personal photo project.

in the process of completing.  I have two that I am working on and I am super excited about them, but I don’t want to show any of the work until it is finished…get excited because I can’t sleep because I am so excited about it!

Nepal | Jessica’s Photography |

January 4, 2016

Today on Cottage Hill, my Nepal photos that were published in their Pioneer Issue are now on their online Journal.  I am so grateful to them for publishing these images and my story.  I can’t wait to do more documentary photography, I love to travel the world and I love to get to know different cultures across the globe.  These are some of my favorite photos that I ever taken, I could have been done with my career after this trip, and I would be completely satisfied with my accomplishments.  The Beyond Workshop was such  great experience, and I really pushed myself outside of my boundaries and I photographed some truly beautiful people.  The country of Nepal is like no other, your life will be changed once you walk in the Himalayan Mountains, I can not believe this beautiful earth that was created for us, I am in constant awe. The people were so humble and so giving of the little that they had.  I can’t count the  amount of times that we were invited into the homes of the people.  I went to Nepal because I made a bucket list when I was 21 of things to accomplish before I turn 30, this was one of the goals that I never thought would be possible!  I have a couple of months to finish my other goals, and then to make some new ones!  I have so many places that I plan to go, I can’t wait to do more travel photography.
