Summer Family Photos in Park City, Utah
Summer vacations with your family are the perfect time to get a family photo. Everyone is together and isn’t everyone happiest on vacation? This family got together in Park City to celebrate their dad’s birthday. What parent wouldn’t love an updated family photo as a birthday gift? Promontory Club in Park City is one of my favorite locations because in this private luxury community, there are so many great areas for photos. To say I love the landscaping is an understatement. The light filters through the trees and plants so beautifully!
What to Wear for your Extended Family Photos
I love the outfits that this family chose. The colors are perfect for summer in Park City. When people ask me for outfit suggestions, I always suggest neutrals with blues. I feel like this combination is simple yet timeless. When coordinating outfits for a group of this size, start with a simple color palette, and add in a few patterns for variety–you don’t want to be too matchy. When I photograph extended family photos, I love when I get to break off and do photos with all of the little families. I had so much fun photographing these little ones. They were all so sweet and cooperative!
One of the best tips I’ve learned for large group family photos: plan some activities for the kids to do while they are waiting for their turn. I always do my best to get through all of the groups in an efficient, timely manner; while still ensuring I take a variety of photo combinations. I make it a priority to give each group enough attention. This ensures each family has a variety of authentic and beautiful photos to choose from.
As sad as it can be to see summer coming to an end, I’m so glad these families have some permanent memories of their summer family vacation.
