Amangiri Engagement Photographer

April 20, 2017

Engagement shoots at The Amangiri are always dreamy!  I just loved working with this cute couple.  Joseph surprised Sapna by proposing and a planned engagement shoot, read their story below.  I have been so lucky to have so many shoots in this amazing place!  Can’t wait to shoot there again!

Words from the Bride:

Joe and I met at the University of Southern California, we lived in the same dorm freshman year.  The 5th floor boys and 2nd floor girls became fast friends, and that friends carried us through college.  After college, Joe stayed in Los Angeles to work for an architecture firm and I stayed to go to law school at Loyola Law School here in Los Angeles.  We stayed close friends throughout the years, and 10 years after we first met, we started dating.  I didn’t see it coming but Joe said he always knew that someday we would find ourselves together.  Dating one of your closest friends is such a different experience.  In some ways you know exactly what you are getting yourself into (for better or worse!) and in other ways, its amazing to get to know this whole other beautiful side to a person you already deeply care for.

Fast forward 5 year, and we had decided to take a trip to Zion National Park for a long weekend.  It was a celebration and reward for a crazy month spent with my family as my sister had gotten married just weeks before.  Little did I know, that in that time, Joe had also asked for my father’s permission, designed a ring, and conspired with my sisters and Mom to plan the weekend dreams are made of.  We spent the first two days “unplugged” and enjoying all Zion had to offer.  On the third day, just after we started what was supposed to be a strenuous hike, Joe pulled off the trail to take a break.  I didn’t think anything of it, until I turned around and there he was, down on one knee with a ring in his hand!  It was such a special moment, just when I thought nothing could top the grandeur of our surroundings, I saw the smile on his face and tears in his eyes, I had never been more blown away.  The surprises kept coming as we did an about face on the trail, returned to the hotel, and packed up to head to a “surprise location” for a little rest and relaxation.  I was dying with curiosity and once I realized we were headed to Amangiri, I was beside myself.  It was a dream destination, and no better place to cap this beautiful weekend.  I am a lucky girl.
