Winter Engagements | Jessica’s Photography

November 17, 2015

Sam and Alivia snuggled up for a snowy winter engagement shoot. The sunny but cold day made for a gorgeous backdrop, the freshly fallen snow hung on the branches of the massive pine trees, while Alivia hung onto Sam for warmth. The bright sun added a warm and loving glow to the icy snow below. They cuddled up in some cozy fur blankets to keep warm. These two were willing to embrace the cold winter day and knew exactly how to dress. Their warm sweaters and thick flannels made them feel cute, casual and most importantly warm.
Winter shoots are breathtaking and cold, but if you have the right people to cuddle up with and the right clothes, there is nothing to fear.

Helicopter Proposal {Destination Engagement Photographer}

October 27, 2015

This helipcopter proposal was featured on Utah Bride Blog a while back and I am excited to finally share these proposal photos in Southern Utah.

Darshan contacted me several months before he was going to pop the question to his girlfriend Tulsi, in December in 2013. He wanted to have the proposal photographed and then some engagement photos afterward. Darshan told her they would be visiting Southern Utah for a camping and fishing trip. When they arrived she was surprised with a unique stay at the amazing Amangiri Resort for a relaxing vacation. While they were there he also surprised her with a helicopter ride to view the stunning Southern Utah scenery. From the helicopter we were able to view Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell. The helicopter landed on Tower Butte which is only accessible by helicopter.

My husband and I posed as guests at the resort and went along on the helicopter ride with the happy couple. Darshan and I had decided on a sign so I would know where he planned on proposing. He found his spot and got down on one knee and asked the question. Tulsi was completely surprised and said yes!

Once we returned to the resort we took some engagement photos, everything turned out perfect!

I have loved being a photographer at the Aman Resorts, the Amangiri is so unique and it resembles the beauty of Southern Utah.

Happy 10 Jessica’s Photography and The Riter Mansion

April 29, 2015

In February I celebrated 10 years in business!  I can’t believe it has been that long, I remember going into the Smithfield City Offices and filling out my papers to start my business.  I had no clue what I was doing at the age of 19, but I knew it was what I wanted to do.  I am so grateful that I have made it this far, I love what I do, and photography is something that makes me completely happy, it is who I am, and I love everything about it.  I put myself through school at Utah State with it and as soon as I graduated in 2007, my business went full time.  I am incredibly grateful for what my photography has done for me, it purchased my first home and continues to pay my bills and now it is putting my husband through school as well.  Photography has taken me around the world, and I am so grateful for this.  I love connecting with different cultures through the lens of my camera.  I am truly happy when I am wandering through a random street half way across the globe with my camera in hand!  I can’t wait to see where my business goes in the next 10 years.

Because of this great milestone I am throwing a big Fiesta to celebrate!  The Riter Mansion a local wedding venue in Logan, Utah is also celebrating 10 years in business.  We have teamed up to throw a big party to thank all of our past clients, current clients, friends and family!  We wouldn’t be here without you!

Because of recent events in Nepal we will be having a silent auction and donation box.  Please see my last post to read about my trip to Nepal in March.  Please be generous.
